Glawackus in Connecticut

The Glastonbury Glawackus is a 1939 Connecticut cryptid legend, described as a “part-dog, part-cat, part-bear” beast terrorizing the Glastonbury area. Often called the “Northern Devil Cat” and known for a terrifying, high-pitched scream, it was blamed for killing livestock before disappearing, likely being a Fisher cat or a massive, elaborate local hoax.
