Demonic Annabelle Doll

The Annabelle doll is a notoriously haunted Raggedy Ann doll, believed by paranormal investigators Ed and Lorraine Warren to be possessed by a powerful demonic entity. Rather than a human spirit, the demon used the doll as a conduit to prey on human sympathy and gain control, often appearing in films like Annabelle and The Conjuring as a malevolent force seeking to inflict fear and possess a human host.

Key Aspects of the Annabelle Demon:

  • The Entity: While early reports suggested the spirit of a deceased girl (Annabelle Higgins), the Warrens concluded it was a demon. The films identify this entity as “Malthus,” a demon that manipulates the doll and causes physical harm.
  • The True Form: The demon in the Conjuring universe is often depicted in a terrifying, goat-like form, or as an old, demonic entity.
  • Case History: In the 1970s, nurses reported the doll moved on its own, left notes, and inflicted physical attacks.
  • Current Location: After being deemed too dangerous to remain with the owners, the doll was secured in a specially blessed glass case at the Warrens’ Occult Museum in Connecticut.
  • Behavior: The demon is described as “sadistic, persistent, and aggressive,” aiming to destroy human souls.
